Brochure from JW
Thursday, July 27, 2006When i went home after uni today, i saw a nicely printed brochure in front of my door.
"Would you like to know more about the Bible?" is writen on the a colourful, attractive cover. I knew it is from JW.
I scanned through the brochure and threw it into the rubbish bin immediately. But then i pick it up again and try to check the verses they qouted from the bible.
Just give one example. I turned to the Romans 6:23, MY bible says this:
For sin pays its wage -- death; but God's free gift is eternal life in union with Christ Jesus our Lord.
However what the JW explains is hardly related to what I have read from the Bible:
If you harmonize your life with the standards set out in the Bible, God will give you everlasting life.
Excuse me... where does the concept "standards" come from? i wonder what is writen in THEIR Bible ...
