A Loving, Righteous Judge

I really like the book "More than a carpenter" by Josh McDowell
i finished reading it today and i'd like to share one of the examples from Josh as he illustrate the relationship between God and us.
There is a Judge asking a lady " are you Guilty or Not guilty?". The lady says, "I'm Guilty." Then the lady would have to pay a $100 fine. The Judge stands up, walks down from the front and pays the fine for the lady. It is because the Judge is her father.
The Judge loves her daughter so much that he is willing to come down from the front and represents as her father and pays the fine. If he says in the court, "Daughter I love you, so I forgive you. You may leave." Then this Judge is not a righteous judge as he is unable to uphold the law. This Judge is a loving father, yet as a righteous judge, he pays for his daughter's fine.
This example illustrate what God does to us is the same. Some people may ask "how could a loving God send people to hell?". For it is written in the Bible, "The wage of sin is death". God is a loving God, yet he is also a just, holy, and righteous God. Just like this Judge, God punishes people who sins. And sin has to be paid by death. But because God loves us so much, He sends his only beloved Son into the world to die for us and pays for our sin.

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. -- John 3:16
