Prayers
What would you pray to God?Maybe, people would say ...
"I pray that...
- I will pass all exams
- I will get the job
- I will become smarter so I can have a better result
- I will be taller and skinnier
- I can be more handsome / prettyI will get everything I want
God listens to prayers, indeed He is a loving God.
But, what are motives of your prayers? Self-interested, self-centered, or selfish prayers are not the will of God. If He answers all your prayers according to your will, He becomes your servent rather than your God. Because they are 'orders', but not 'prayers'. You can never be the master of God.
However it is interesting to hear these people start and end their prayers with "Lord ..." If your prayer is all about yourself, and all you want to do is to give 'order' to God, why would you call Him "Lord"?
Dear Lord, I pray that you will guide us and let us understand what your will really is, but not focusing on our earthly desires.
